In a remarkable display of skill and determination, Amritpal Singh and Harmanjeet, esteemed athletes from the Budo Kai Do Mixed Martial Arts Federation of India, claimed gold and silver at the prestigious 2nd India AKAl Open Karate Championship, held on July 27, 2025, in Kapurthala, Punjab.
In addition to their recent success at the national level, Harmanjeet also earned a silver medal in the International Taekwondo Championship held in Thailand in 2024.
Sharanjeet, President of the Budo Kai Do Mixed Martial Arts Federation of India, congratulated the athletes and presented them with a Rs 50,000 cheque as recognition for their outstanding achievements. Expressing pride in their accomplishments, he highlighted that both Amritpal and Harmanjeet are not only skilled athletes but also promising future stars, with a combined total of 8-10 national medals to their names.
Speaking on their achievement, both Amritpal Singh and Harmanjeet expressed heartfelt gratitude to the federation, pledging to continue representing the academy with excellence. "We will strive to bring more awards and accolades to the federation, both at the national and international levels," the players said.
In recognition of his international success, the academy also awarded Harmanjeet for his stellar performance at the 2024 International Taekwondo Championship in Thailand, wishing both athletes continued success in future tournaments.
