Why Menopause Support Deserves More Than Awareness: A Call for Education, Empowerment, and Action

Chandigarh : Menopause is an inevitable transition in a woman’s life, yet it remains one of the most overlooked and misunderstood aspects of women’s health. The symptoms of perimenopause and menopause ranging from hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and brain fog to fatigue and sleep disturbances are often minimized or ignored. As millions of women experience these profound physiological changes, the need for better understanding, support, and care has never been more urgent.
Today, Miror, a company dedicated to improving the well-being of individuals navigating menopause, is leading the charge in advocating for comprehensive support that goes beyond mere awareness. “It’s time to break the silence! Our mission at Miror is clear to use technology as a catalyst for change in women's health. By creating a comprehensive ecosystem through expert-led awareness and community engagement, we are making menopause care more accessible, says Sanjith Shetty, Founder & CEO, Miror.”

A Call for Education and Awareness
One of the most pressing challenges in menopause care is the widespread lack of awareness. Many women enter perimenopause with little understanding of what to expect, leading to confusion, frustration, and anxiety when symptoms arise. This often leads to an overwhelming number of women encountering symptoms without adequate preparation. Unfortunately, many healthcare providers across the globe lack the necessary training to address these symptoms effectively, resulting in delayed diagnoses and insufficient treatment. To remedy this Miror, in association with the Indian Menopause Society, is actively promoting workplace awareness initiatives, fostering deeper community engagement, and enhancing visibility and understanding of its superior products and solutions to create a more informed and supportive environment.
The Need for Personalized Healthcare
Menopause is not a one-size-fits-all experience. It is a deeply personal journey that varies from woman to woman based on genetics, lifestyle, and health. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) has emerged as standard treatment in many parts of the world for decades, however, its adoption in India is very low. Miror aspires to become a Center of Excellence, offering personalized care including precise HRT for each woman for alleviating menopausal symptoms and fatal impact. They understand that individualized treatment plans, especially in places like India, where premature menopause rates are rising, are critical
to addressing women’s unique needs.
Workplace Challenges and Support
Beyond the home, menopause significantly impacts professional life. Symptoms like fatigue, cognitive issues, and mood changes can hinder productivity and self-esteem in the workplace. However, many organizations still fail to recognize menopause as a health concern. Miror advocates for comprehensive workplace policies that include flexible hours, wellness programs, and open conversations about menopause, that are essential to creating an environment where menopausal employees feel understood and valued.
Cultural Shifts and Breaking the Stigma
For decades, menopause has been surrounded by cultural silence and stigma. However, attitudes are beginning to shift, with influential public figures in India and worldwide openly sharing their experiences. This openness has fueled discussions on podcasts, social media, and online communities, providing women with much-needed resources and solidarity. Miror sees this as a sign that the stigma is beginning to lift, helping to normalize menopause and create a supportive environment for women navigating this transition.
Holistic Approaches to Menopause Care
Peri/Menopause is not just a physical transition, it affects emotional and mental well-being too. In response to the growing demand, the wellness industry in India is introducing menopause-specific supplements, fitness programs, and digital health solutions that cater to the unique needs of women during this transition. Furthermore, online forums and community groups are playing a vital role in offering women solidarity and shared experiences, helping them embrace menopause with confidence and strength. Miror advocates for a holistic approach to menopause care that includes mindfulness, yoga, strength training, and balanced nutrition to improve quality of life during this phase. With the help of experts and doctors on board, their community has enabled all of the above and has positively impacted 75,000+ women to date.
Menopause is an inevitable part of life, but it is one that deserves much more attention, support, and care than it has historically received. By prioritizing education, embracing personalized healthcare, promoting workplace support, and eliminating stigma, we can transform menopause from a marginalized topic into a vital aspect of women’s health. Miror is committed to leading the way in creating lasting change, ensuring that every woman has the tools, resources, and care needed to navigate menopause with dignity, confidence, and resilience.
