Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA) Successfully Concludes 16 Awareness Programs in Punjab State

Chandigarh - April 9, 2024: 

The Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA) proudly announces the successful completion of 16 awareness programs across various districts in Punjab from February to April 2024. These initiatives, funded by the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, were conducted in collaboration with local educational institutions.

Reena Chadda, General Manager of IPCA Punjab Region, expressed her gratitude to the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, stating, "We are immensely proud to have successfully concluded these 16 awareness programs in Punjab. Through collaboration with local schools and support from the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, IPCA has made significant strides in spreading awareness about environmental conservation."

IPCA's mission was to educate students and communities about environmental sustainability and pollution control measures. Players of Budo Kai Do Mixed Martial Arts federation of India bag Medals in India Akai Open Karate Championship

 

Chandigarh April 8, 2024: In a major development, players of Budo Kai do Mixed Martial Arts federation of India bagged Gold. Silver and Bronze Medals in India Akai Open Karate Championship held from April 6 to April 7, 2024 at Kapurthala, Punjab.

While Sukhjeet Kaur clinched Gold medal and Best Fighter award in the tournament, other participants who bagged the Gold medal included Amninder Kaur, Komalpreet Kaur,Garvita Kaushal, Pritam Dass, lakshay Kaushal, Gursimran Singh and Dilpreet Singh. 

The Silver Medal winners include Sajanpreet Singh, Harjot Singh, Lovejot Singh, Jashanpreet Singh, Mintu Singh and Gurmeet Kumar while those who bagged Bronze Medals at the tournament included Simaranjeet Singh, Vikas, Kulwinder Singh, Harshpreet Singh, Karanveer Singh and Pardeep Kumar. 

All the team members were awarded by Mr. Sharanjeet Singh, President, Budo kai do Mixed Martial Arts federation of India. While congratulating the winners and the participants, he said, “It is a matter of great pride that all the members performed exceptionally well in the competition and it is their hard work and the devotion of Coach Harpreet Kaur, Balram Hakla, Munish Sharma and Suman Lata Sharma under whose guidance these athletes achieved the feat.”

ग्रीन लोटस सक्षम के मालिक पर हमला करने के आरोप में पूर्व पार्टनर अमित मित्तल और संजय गर्ग पर केस दर्ज

चंडीगढ़, 4 अप्रैल 2024

बीते दिन ग्रीन लोटस सक्षम के मालिक विवेक सावल पर चंडीगढ़ में जानलेवा हमला हुआ था, जिसमें वह गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गए थे। इस मामले में सेक्टर 34 थाना पुलिस ने उनके पूर्व पार्टनर अमित मित्तल और संजय गर्ग पर विभिन्न धाराओं के तहत केस दर्ज किया है। पुलिस को दी अपनी शिकायत में घायल विवेक सावल ने कहा कि ग्रीन लोटस उत्सव के बिल्डर अमित मित्तल और उनके पूर्व पार्टनर बिल्डर संजय गर्ग के साथ उनका पैसों को लेकर विवाद चल रहा है, जिनके खिलाफ उन्होंने विजिलेंस विभाग में शिकायत की हुई है। इसी कारण उक्त दोनों मुझसे रंजिश रखते थे, जिस कारण उन्होंने मुझ पर यह हमला करवाया है।

उन्होंने कहा कि गत दिवस जब वह विजिलेंस विभाग में दस्तावेज जमा करवा कर बाहर निकल रहे थे, तभी संजय गर्ग ने उन्हें शिकायत करने का नतीजा भुगतने को कहा था, लेकिन वह उसकी बातों को नजरअंदाज कर अपनी गाडी लेकर घर को निकल गए। उन्होंने कहा कि जब वह अपने घर जा रहे थे, तो दो मोटरसाइकिल सवार युवकों ने उसकी गाडी को हिट किया। जब उन्होंने गाडी रोकी, तो मोटरसाइकिल सवार युवकों ने उसको नाम पूछा और तेजधार हथियारों से उस पर हमला कर दिया, जिस कारण उसके सिर पर गहरा कट लग गया। इसके बाद दोनों युवक उसे विजिलेंस में शिकायत देने पर दोबारा देख लेने की धमकियां देते हुए भाग गए।

SVKM’s NMIMS Chandigarh conducted a two-day event dedicated to the spirit of innovation in the form of their annual Innoventure 2024 event. This lively competition called for an eclectic gathering of dreamers, inventors and innovators to show off their creativity and be selected to represent the next big idea. The Innoventure stage was built to welcome truly diverse minds, whether an experienced founder, a growing entrepreneur, or a student with a fresh idea.

The highlight of the event was the presence of the Shri Banwarilal Purohit, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab & Administrator of Chandigarh, who was present as chief guest on the second day. In his special address at the event, lauding NMIMS Chandigarh’s initiative, Hon’ble Governor, Shri Banwarilal Purohit encouraged the students to firmly say no to ill-gotten wealth and stay on the path of honesty and truthfulness while taking a pledge to serve the country. He added, “Our NEP is very robust and encourages boosting infrastructure. I urge the institution to invest in refresher courses and invite experts regularly so that no one is left behind in this competitive world. Moreover, the institution should be run on the principles laid down by Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi by upholding ethics and total transparency.”

The event was also graced by the esteemed Chancellor of SVKM’s NMIMS, Mr. Amrish Patel. Addressing the august audience, he said, “We have been dedicated to delivering high-quality education to the new generation of students for many years now. I want to assure you that NMIMS Chandigarh will continue to pursue its goal of empowering young students with the skills and knowledge they need to be self-reliant.”

The event ushered in an impressive guest panel composed of industry thought leaders, company founders, investors and business experts as judges of the main event. The panel of judges provided a world-class benchmark for students to rise in their entrepreneurial endeavours.

The students got a chance to showcase their skills and pitch their groundbreaking ideas in the form of groups, with an average of 5-10 minutes to complete their pitches, depending on the pitching round. In addition to winning exciting cash prizes, this event allowed participants to directly network with industry leaders, gaining valuable professional insights and finding inspiration to take the next steps in their journey as future founders, entrepreneurs and CEOs. 

The event drew bright and enthusiastic students of NMIMS into the limelight with its engaging roster of activities. The highlight event was the thrilling pitching competition, where participants exhibited their business ideas and inventions to the illustrious guest panel composed of angel investors, established authors, financial gurus and company heads who posed as strict judges. Every passionate pitch held the promise of a budding venture waiting to be recognised. 

Exciting cash prizes worth up to the sum of Rs. 1 lakh were awarded to the most innovative and promising ideas. The top winners received prizes along with recognition and exposure to potential investors and collaborators. Meanwhile, the event turned out to be an invaluable experience for all participants, fuelling entrepreneurial aspirations and ambitions. The pitching sessions were complemented by an engaging panel session hosted by angel investor, author and TEDx speaker Mr Hetal Sonpal. 

The final pitching round was followed by the declaration of results and a gala dinner. Competition winners were given the unique opportunity to join in and personally interact with the event judges.

The winners at Innoventure were Yashvi Kamboj and Kinjal Madaan from Reverberate- Sound Pressed of Chitkara International School, who secured the 1st position. Vansh Saini claimed the 2nd position. The 3rd position was jointly shared by The Incredibles, comprising Pratima Sikarwar and Shiv Gahlawat from Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET) KUK, and Ease Fitness, represented by Mansi Gupta and Abhishek Kumar from PIET KUK.

Speaking about the unique event, Dr Jaskiran Kaur, Director, NMIMS Chandigarh, said, “It is the age of startups and we at NMIMS encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship at our campus. I am certain that budding entrepreneurs on our campus got practical insights into the world of business from the wisdom shared by the experts present at Innoventure 2024. We want to nurture the talents of our students by moving beyond classroom learning and this event was a testimony to that philosophy.”  

Overall, the Innoventure 2024 event was a fascinating look into the minds of tomorrow - a glimpse at promising future leaders, pioneering inventors and bold innovators who will certainly go on to disrupt the Indian entrepreneurial landscape for the better.

The foundation stone for the Chandigarh campus was laid on 12 October 2009. The campus started with two exclusive undergraduate disciplines of Commerce and Law and has recently added two Engineering Programs. The School of Commerce provides the BBA & B Com programs. Tech Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) are provided by the School of Technology Management and Engineering.
